Elizabeth (Bessie) was the daughter of James Stevens (who wrote A Cornish Farmer's Diary) and Honor Edwards Stevens. She was born in Zennor in 1882 and married Jesse Thomas in 1909. Her parents also buried in Zennor, along with her brother James, and sisters Catherine, Honor, Lily (Olds) and Mabel (Reynolds).
